My story

The Animal Man

Once upon a time there was a man who was walking in the streets.  Suddenly, his keys fell in a black hole so we went to look for them. At that moment, he found his keys and a black ring, so he took the keys and the ring and went to his house. 

Next day, he woke up and he found the black ring on his table. He thought to himself what would happen if he put the ring in his finger. He put the ring in his finger and he suddenly heard animal sounds and felt a weird pain like if a lion was bited him. 

He got so scared and immediately he went to a bridge near his house and threw the ring into the river. Then he went to work as usual and when he arrived home he found the black ring on his table. He immediately took the black ring and threw it through the window but when he looked back, the ring was there again on the table and he thought : "What would happen if i put on the ring again?".

When he put on the ring, he heard the sound of an eagle and unexpectedly he became an eagle and he got very excited. He took the ring off his finger and became a human again. He went to the house of a friend who lived in the same street and showed him the ring but it didn't work with his friend because it only worked when he was alone. 

He used the ring every day. He could become a lion, a crocodile,  a tiger, a shark and many more animals. One day, he wanted to become a platypus but the ring exploded and he became a horrible monster with paws with feathers and wings and horrible fangs. He immediately thought: "if people see me like this, they would call the police right away and they would kill me. I can only go out at nights".

People said that they saw the animal man at nights, looking and stealing all the rings that he found, looking desperately for a black ring.

BOGOTA'S RIVER

BOGOTA'S RIVER

It is contaminated because the factories throw their wastes to the river and also the people who live in the city throw wastes to the river. It connects  with the Magdalena's river and then to the ocean.

It is almost impossible to clean all the river because we have years and years throwing garbage to the Bogota's river.

However, many things can be done in order to have a cleaner river in the city for example throwing waste in other places.

On the river only bacterium lives because any organism can live there with the polluted water.

Water Pollution in Africa

The 80 % of the water in Africa is contaminated because of the factories and the mining industries that use mercury for extracting the gold and also because of the chemical waste they throw away in rivers and lakes.

  

 In Africa 30.000 people die daily because they don't have access to clean water and they die because of sicknesses like dysentery and diarrhoea and the 90% of that 30.000 are children of five years old.

 Other problem is that the lack of hygienic conditions where people can throw their wastes because there aren't bins provided in the cities and people have to dispose of the garbage in the streets and this brings a lot of bacteria and diseases 

  

THANKSGIVING DAY

This day is a special occasion  that is celebrated accross the United States Of America and in Canada in every single home. Thanksgiving is probably one of the most important celebrations for North Americans, where families and friends generally reunite to share food, drinks and gifts. It is important because people have the opportunity to share a special moment with the ones they love and also because it is a way to say thanks for everything they have received during the year. 


This day is not celebrated in our contry as a national holiday but there are many people who may celebrate it because they have family who live either in the USA or in Canada. Also, we dont celebrate it because for us there are other types of similar celebrations that  are more meaningful for the Colombian people such as Crhismas' eve or the Love and Friendship day
